Portland is a nice, small city, with a beautiful rose garden and Japanese garden within Washington Park. We spent most of our time with cousins (photos of family will be on a secure Flickr site) and later visited with a college classmate and a residency professor, enabling us to see several different parts of the city and its environs. Unfortunately we never saw Mt. Hood, as it was in clouds throughout the three days of our visit.
