Our road trip with Heidi, Marshall, Karen, and Stewart to sites along the Hudson River:

★Philipsburg Manor, Sleepy Hollow (exterior view, did not tour)
★Kykuit, Pocantico Hills (Rockefeller family home)
★FDR National Historic Site, including Springwood and Val-Kill, Hyde Park
★Vanderbilt Estate, Hyde Park
★Wilderstein, (the Suckley family home; distant cousins of FDR; Daisy Suckley was one of his companions; closed the day we were there, but we walked around the grounds)
★Culinary Institute of America (CIA)
★Clermont State Historic Site (Livingston family home)
★Olana (Frederic Church home and grounds)
★Mohonk Preserve and Mohonk Mountain House (a day hiking on the trails)
★Huguenot Street, New Paltz
★Walkway over the Hudson, Poughkeepsie to Highland
★Vassar College, Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, with paintings by members of the Hudson River School
★Locust Grove Estate, home of Samuel Morse, has nice hiking trails (we arrived too late for an interior tour)
★Lovely dinner at Heidi’s friend Mary’s charming home and garden in Putnam Valley
